A Message From Our Board
Friends and Supporters,
We are saddened to join our Artistic Director's announcement that due to COVID 19 and the importance of social distancing, we are canceling the rest of our season. We are very proud of all of our accomplishments so far this year - from several new community events, to two well attended public performances, and many smiling faces in the audiences of our assisting living programs.
It is only because of you, our friends, sponsors and supporters, that we can continue to bring beautiful music to Raleigh and Wake County. We are so excited about our 2020-21 5th Year Anniversary Season - and cannot wait to share it with you in the months to come.
Be Well. Stay Safe and see you soon.
Warm regards,
The Board of Oak City Voices
A Message From the Artistic Director
It was with a lot of disappointment that we had to cancel the remainder of Oak City Voices 2019-2020 season. But the situation with the spread of Covid-19 made it the only responsible thing that we could do. And we aren’t alone. We join a long list of arts organizations all over the country and the world that must suspend concerts for now. The “May Song” concert is a program that I am very excited about and it will be programmed again in future series. Great music, such as this, endures and will still speak to us at a future date.
In the meantime, without the schedule of rehearsals that I normally preside over in a week (about nine on average) I’ll have time to research and listen to new music and create more programs for OCV to perform. And I’ll be working on video and audio clips from a backlog of files that I have recent performances. There is already new content on our YouTube page and more is coming! Keep checking our YouTube, Facebook, and our website and enjoy some highlights of our past concerts as we plan for our future ones.
I miss seeing everybody and the singing, but I am looking forward to being back and stronger in the 2020-2021 season.
