Mary Jane Carswell is a native midwesterner hailing from Indianapolis, Indiana. Over the years,  she has called various states her home, including Ohio, Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina, before settling in Cary, NC in November of 2022.

With a lifelong passion for music, Mary Jane has been singing in choirs since elementary school. She sings second soprano and often sang with her family during her childhood.  Her love for choral music continued as she sang in church choirs before joining Oak City Voices in January, 2023. 

Professionally, Mary Jane is a retired Pediatric Occupational Therapist. Outside of her musical and professional pursuits, she enjoys spending time with her three grandsons and being involved in their activities. Mary Jane’s other interests include nature, reading, cooking, animals, and meeting new people.
